New Year, New Toy

So today I had a play with the toy that Santa didn't bring me - my new Silhouette Cameo. It wasn't cheap, and  I think I really need to watch the instruction video that came with it plus check out the various tutorials on the web, but so far it looks like making my Big Shot completely redundant.

The machine came with 50 preloaded design, once I discovered how to find them (a quick google!), plus download cards worth $35. As most designs are 99 cents, that gives me loads more designs to buy from the store. Then just use the software to re-size, cut out and hey presto, you get an intricately cut shape.

It's my sister's birthday tomorrow and as I always send home made cards, I had the perfect opportunity for a play.

I made this card using the toppers from Making Cards magazine Jan 14 plus my own paper and card stock. It's quite simple but, I think, elegant. Anyway, it kept me away from my new gym (more about that later) and gives me a chance to recover from yesterday's taster sessions of Body Combat and Body Pump.
